Why is it delicious?
Apple pies are a fall staple, but most of us don’t have time to bake a whole pie! Not to mention the baking skills! We came up with an easy way to use whatever you have in your kitchen to get that same apple pie taste! This cinnamon apple granola will satisfy your cravings and can be added to your favorite sweet treats like yogurt or vanilla bean ice cream.
Food Storage Tip
Most people don’t know but you can freeze granola! Make sure your granola is completely cooled before putting it in an airtight container. Then put it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 apples (red delicious, cubed)
- 1/2 pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cups dates
- 3 tablespoons flour of choice
- 3 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325º F (163ºC)
- In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients and ensure they are coated evenly
- Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Bake for a total of 30 minutes. While the granola bakes, be sure to turn over the mixture every 10 minutes to ensure browning occurs evenly throughout.
- Let cool for about 5 minutes and enjoy!
